Silent Confession – Ch.41 – “Waiting for my husband.”

“……”

Xin Yi didn’t speak for a long time, he sat down quietly, letting Yu NanShan touch his head, not pushing it away anymore.

Xin Shao in the living room heard the commotion and came out quietly, he looked at the two of them who were squatting in the entrance, hesitated for a moment, and also squatted down.

“What’s wrong?”

He asked gently.

Yu NanShan shook his head at him, with a gentle look in his eyes that was completely different from usual.

“It’s fine…”

Xin Yi spoke, he finally calmed down from his impatience and grievance, and sensitively perceived the deep meaning of his father’s words.

“I will grow up well, and not make everybody worry anymore.”

He lowered his head and said in a muffled voice, “In the future, in the future I won’t be this childish anymore!”

I will become a little more clever, a little braver; not always making dad, mom, and his Zhou MuHui worry.

“It is not this meaning—”

“That’s why don’t say that!”

Xin Yi cut him off, not letting him speak anymore, his eyes showed sadness, looking at Yu NanShan feeling aggrieved, “Dad, you are really too much.”

Making Xin Yi who was obviously angry wanting to forgive him immediately.

He pulled himself into a sullen mood, pushed his parents inside, and quickly closed the door before they could react.

“I understand it all.”

The door closed with a crisp sound,  Xin Yi leaned against the door, lowered his head, and spoke in a low voice to the people inside.

His voice was very light, but Xin Yi knew, his parents could hear him.

“I know… you guys are doing this for my own good.”

He sniffed, “But.. but”

“Him and I… won’t separate anymore.”

He spoke seriously in a low voice.

“Zhou MuHui was amazing before, and is even more amazing now.” He rubbed his red eyes and smiled at the people inside again, “Dad, look, he is even a year earlier than the three years you mentioned.”

“He is really already very very good!”

Xin Yi puffed up his chest and said proudly.

“……”

The people inside paused and sighed.

“Yes.”

Xin Yi laughed and used the back of his hand to wipe away the tears that accidentally spilled out.

“He especially loves me, and I also especially like him, we will be together for a lifetime.”

“Just like you guys.”

Xin Yi took two steps back, as if he didn’t dare to touch his parents who were already slowly getting older through that door.

“That’s why don’t worry about me!”

He shouted.

That’s why…

That’s why don’t say these words about not being able to stay by my side anymore.

A family is originally supposed to always, always stay together.

Even at an old age, white haired, maybe not even able to speak anymore.

You guys will always be Xin Yi’s dads and mom, dads and mom whom I love the most.

There was no sound coming from inside for a long time, after a while, Yu NanShan asked him.

“What are you doing not coming inside?”

“……”

The warm atmosphere was abruptly broken, Xin Yi dug his palms, wiped away the tears from the corners of his eyes feeling upset, and sat down at the door again.

“… Waiting for my husband.”

He said angrily.

The door wasn’t opened again, and after a while his parents’ footsteps slowly left, he heard subtle voices, from loud to low, from near to far, and his name was mixed in the words,  then sighed twice more, and Xin Yi held his face in his hands supporting it on his knees.

Couldn’t help but smile.

Because he knew his parents already compromised.

Because they love Xin Yi, and also because they believe in Zhou MuHui.

The phone in his pocket rang twice, it was a text from Zhou MuHui.

Replied under his sneaky cat (emoji), saying that he would arrive in a moment.

The sky’s color slowly became darker, Xin Yi replied to him with a kissy emoji but wasn’t in a hurry anymore.

Because he knew Zhou MuHui was coming, no matter how far, no matter how late.

Just as the other party said this morning.

He just went out briefly, but will always return by Xin Yi’s side.

Xin Yi supported his face absentmindedly, thinking about what Zhou MuHui said last night, then thinking about what his parents had said just now.

He was a lucky kid.

Xin Yi thought.

Although heaven didn’t give him a clever brain, but gave him the parents in the world, the best friend, and a lover that he liked very very much.

Lover.

Xin Yi pursed his lips into a smile.

He liked that word, it was a bit more sincere than boyfriend, and a bit more solemn than husband, like an incomparable identity, uniquely belonging to Zhou MuHui.

It was already the evening when Zhou MuHui came, the sun was half setting, and the afterglow of the setting sun enveloped the earth, Xin Yi stood up and waved to him, smiling at him with his face raised.

Zhou MuHui stopped the car, and speed-walked toward him.

“There was a traffic jam on the road.”

Zhou MuHui explained, caressing his forehead which was wet with sweat.

“Why didn’t you wait inside?”

Xin Yi shook his head, leaned on him smilingly, and looked up at him.

“Zhou MuHui.”

Xin Yi called him stickyly, Zhou MuHui responded, seeing that he was just smiling and said nothing, and couldn’t help but sigh.

“What’s wrong?”

He took Xin Yi’s hand and walked inside, pushing open the door in front of him, but the little kid next to him got soft-boned and leaned against him closely.

“… Why are you so clingy.”

Zhou MuHui pulled the half-open door back, turned his head, and asked him in a low voice.

Xin Yi didn’t reply, but was whining and hugging him, Zhou MuHui gently soothed the back of his neck, the little kid in his arms moved around like a cat, and then finally managed to open his mouth.

“Zhou MuHui, I will love you well.”

He raised his head and whispered embarrassingly.

Becoming the person who loves you the most in this world, giving you all the good things, letting you be happy every day, only surrounded by love, being a happy and lucky person.

Zhou MuHui’s eyebrows half-dropped and smiled softly.

“Ok.”

He didn’t say anything else, only pushed the door and brought Xin Yi inside, in the evening, they had another meal at home, Xin Yi sat opposite Yu NanShan,  while his mother and Zhou MuHui were talking, he quietly picked out a piece of ribs for his father.

Yu NanShan paused for a moment, raised his head, and looked at him.

Xin Yi was awkward, and said in a low voice, “Dad, I forgive you.”

Yu TingYun who was sitting on one side raised an eyebrow, Xin Yi saw that, and immediately gave him a piece.

“I also forgive you.”

Xin Yi took his chopsticks back, covering the left side of his face with  his hand, “But you guys are not allowed to bully Zhou MuHui anymore.”

He lowered his voice, and told them furtively.

“What are you talking about?”

Xin Shao turned around, looking at the three of them being sneaky.

Zhou MuHui’s gaze also turned over, and quietly pulled Xin Yi under the table.

Xin Yi got scared, and hurriedly shook his head, showing off his cleverness to his mom.

“Nothing.”

But the hand under the table wasn’t behaving, tickling Zhou MuHui’s palm.

Zhou MuHui lowered his head with his expression unchanging, closed around his moving hand, his eyes carrying a smile.

“Eat properly.”

Xin Shao sighed, and gave him a helpless look.

When they were leaving, Zhou MuHui’s hands were full of things, that were prepared by Xin Shao for them, they were accompanied to the rose bushes grove, the night was quiet, only the occasional sound of insects could be heard, and the street lights on both sides of the fence were dim and quiet. Xin Yi stopped, turned around, and hugged Xin Shao.

“Thank you mom.”

He whispered.

Xin Shao caressed his head, and didn’t say anything more, but Xin Yi didn’t mind, he just rubbed him in this position, then stood up straight with a smile.

“Then we are leaving!”

Xin Yi said.

His parents nodded, looking at the two of them leaving, Zhou MuHui drove the car and was waiting in front of the door, Xin Yi opened the car’s door, but paused in the next second,  then ran back in a hurry.

“What’s—-”

“I will take care of myself!”

Xin Yi raised his head hastily, looking at the people before him, “You, don’t you guys abandon me.”

He said eagerly.

That’s why grow old a bit more slowly, that’s why wait for me, even if I grow up, I also want to be the ignorant child in your arms.

Xin Yi’s eyes turned red, and before they reacted, he casually hugged them.

“I love you guys..”

He sniffled, his parents were also stunned, the kid in his arms kept nagging, Yu TingYun was made uncomfortable by what he said and couldn’t help but take a step forward.

But he was heartlessly interrupted in the next second.

“But dad, you guys really shouldn’t bully Zhou MuHui anymore.”

He said aggrievedly.

“……”

Xin Shao smiled, Yu TingYun was so angry that he rolled his eyes, he was so moved into a mess by this little kid just now, thinking he had grown up, become sensible, and knew how to feel distressed for his dads and mom, who knew that he wasn’t even moved for more than a minute, this broken kid’s topic has returned to Zhou MuHui.

“Understood.”

He hated that iron could not become steel, but he still suppressed his sadness and agreed.

Xin Yi’s eyes landed on that person who kept quiet, Yu NanShan’s clothes were gripped by him, lowered his gaze, and after looking at him for a long moment, he finally nodded under the moonlight.

“…Alright.”

Xin Yi let out a sigh of relief and suddenly smiled.

Xin Yi hasn’t stopped smiling since he got in the car, Zhou MuHui asked him what was wrong but he didn’t speak, holding the security belt and tangling it around, then occasionally at a red light, he came to hold Zhou MuHui’s hand.

He didn’t answer, and Zhou MuHui didn’t ask anymore, but when they arrived home, he pressed Xin Yi’s hand which was about to turn on the light, then carried him up in the darkness.

“What are you smiling about?”

Zhou MuHui pressed his chin not allowing him to move around, squeezed between his legs, and looked down at him

The man’s voice was low, and his breathing was gentle, but Xin Yi blinked and blushed.

He was carried and sat on the shoe cabinet in the entrance, the two people were huddled, he was afraid that he would fall, and could only use his two hands to hold on backward with difficulty.

“Happy to go back home…”

He shrank back, his eyes wandering around.

Zhou MuHui looked at him calmly, “Xiao Yi, no lying.”

The man’s eyes were deep and told him that they have to be honest with each other in the future because Xin Yi is very stupid, Zhou MuHui wasn’t very bright either, two fools together, if everything is hidden, there will be a lot of misunderstandings.

“You listen.”

Zhou MuHui said.

“……”

Xin Yi deflated, “Alright.”

Xin Yi took advantage of the darkness and hugged him, rested his head on his shoulder, and said that he knew about Zhou MuhuiHui’s agreement with his father.

“But I’ve already talked to dad, he also admitted his mistake, and won’t be like this anymore in the future.”

He slightly raised his head, pursed his lips, and begged Zhou MuHui in a low voice, “Don’t be angry, okay.”

Zhou MuHui was stunned and then shook his head.

He said he wouldn’t, then lowered his head to kiss Xin Yi, he said that uncle Yu did that because he was feeling distressed for Xin Yi, he understands it all.

It is because they all love Xin Yi.

He didn’t mind being wronged, but the little kid didn’t speak for a long moment.

After a long moment, he slowly hugged Zhou MuHui’s neck, leaned against his neck, and spoke.

“But I want… I also want you to have parents…”

“You’re very good…” Xin Yi whispered, “I want them to also love you.”

That’s why when they got together in the beginning he kept following behind his parents and imploring them, begging his mom to like Zhou MuHui, begging his dad to rest assured about Zhou MuHui.

So during the time Yu TingYun was angry he followed him to his company, seriously told how good Zhou MuHui was, telling him not to hate Zhou MuHui.

That’s why he was so sad when he learned that Yu NanShan went to find Zhou MuHui privately, begging for an answer again and again, to not bully Zhou MuHui, and also love Zhou MuHui a little.

Because he still has his parents to think for his sake, plan for him.

But his Zhou MuHui…

Doesn’t have his parents anymore.

Zhou MuHui was quiet for a long moment, for so long that Xin Yi looked up in confusion, and unknowingly when, Mao Mao who wasn’t far away ran over, climbing up along Zhou MuHui’s pants leg, Xin Yi tugged the corner of his clothes, called him hesitantly, “Zhou MuHui…?”

Zhou MuHui hummed, his voice was slow, and carried a hoarseness.

“It’s nothing…”

He stopped midway, then slowly nodded.

“Ok.”

Zhou MuHui thought, maybe he was lucky.

All the harsh punishments and hardships that life gave him were repaid back in another form, the despair, sadness, and pain that Zhou MuHui had hidden in the past were healed bit by bit by the person in his arms. He was bright and scorching, and he was touching and magnanimous, at first, he just stood by the sludge looking at Zhou MuHui, then stretched out his hand, then squatted down, and then cupped his hands and shouted to Zhou MuHui in the darkness.

“Hey, are you okay!”

“Hey, do you want to stand up?”

“Hey, I’ll pull you up okay!”

“Hey, grab me.”

Zhou MuHui, grab me.

Hence, Zhou MuHui caught the sun.

“Eh… It’s Mao Mao.”

Xin Yi lowered his head, slightly pushing away Zhou MuHui, wanting to pick up Mao Mao who climbed halfway.

Zhou MuHui responded, silently bowed, and carried up the cat that was on his tight.

Then in the next second, he handed over Mao Mao along with his own hand to Xin Yi.

“Xiao Yi, for you.”

He said in a low voice.

Xin Yi.

The cat and Zhou MuHui.

They are all yours.
